Prepare Your Skin

We recommend taking a hot bath or shower for 5-10 minutes to loosen dirt, oils, and dead skin cells on your skin. Once you're pat dry, wet our exfoliation glove with water and scrub lightly back and forth on the surface of your skin. Watch the dead skin, dirt, and oils come off, allowing for a much closer shave and helping with ingrown hairs, strawberry legs, and overall skin health.This can also be done with body scrubs or other exfoliation brushes.

Apply Shaving Oil, Body Butter, or Shave Dry

Lubricate:Apply a generous amount of shaving gel or cream to the area you wish to shave. This provides a protective layer and helps the razor glide smoothly over your skin.

Dry Shave:Let your skin fully air dry before dry shaving after exfoliating. If you have extra sensitive skin in certain areas, we recommend using a shaving lubricant.

Shaving with the SilkGlide Pro

The SilkGlide Pro comes with a few shaving attachments, so it's important to use the right tool for the right job. We have our main head with three different razors and our sensitive head for your face or sensitive areas. Our SilkGlide Pro also comes with a skin guard if you don’t want too close of a shave and want to protect your skin from cuts, burns, or nicks.

Shaving Legs, Body, and Arms (Bigger Areas):Using the main head, start by holding the razor perpendicular to your leg with the straight-sided razor and tilt it slightly towards the direction against the way your hairs grow. You want to angle it only slightly, about 30 degrees from perpendicular, to get the best and safest shave. Especially in sensitive areas, avoid holding the razor more horizontal to the shaving surface (imagine shaving with a single razor blade and pointing it down toward your skin—you want it to glide across, not jab down into your skin, which risks nicks, cuts, and burns).

After you trim your hairs in this correct manner, hold the razor perpendicular to the trimmed spot and use the top foil razor to go back and forth over the area to smoothly cut all the short stubble hairs. This gives a smooth shave without nicks, burns, or cuts and cuts the hair at the skin level, helping to avoid ingrown hairs like typical razors.

Shaving Face:Use the sensitive area head and gently shave your face. This head is designed to minimize the risk of nicks, so you can shave with confidence.

Shaving Bikini Areas, Underarms, and Sensitive Areas:Take your time in these areas and pay close attention. Anywhere with loose or not-tight skin can risk nicks, cuts, or burns if not careful, like normal razors. In sensitive areas, we recommend using oils, conditioner, or any shaving lubricant.

When you go to shave, hold the razor perpendicular to the area and slightly angle the razor using the main head, curved blade (for underarm and bikini areas). Pull any loose skin tight and avoid applying any force to the razor (as this can cause nicks, cuts, and burns). Gently glide against the growth of hairs. Then, carefully hold the razor perpendicular to the area and go back and forth in slow motions, using the foil razor to smoothly shave the trimmed hair.

If you still find trouble in sensitive areas, we recommend using the sensitive head to avoid any burns, nicks, or cuts.
